Group of Hospitals in Germany Opens up for Our Students

9898

Over the past year, our cooperation with a group of hospitals in Lower Saxony (Schwester Euthymia Stiftung) has progressed significantly. The partnership was celebrated in Vechta on June 10, 2022, with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding enabling our students to do clinical rotations in Schwester Euthymia Stiftung’s hospitals, among others. The Memorandum also supports staff exchange and collaboration in research and publications. During the signing ceremony, the Dean, prof. Martin Vokurka emphasised the importance of developing these relationships to recruit high-quality students and our need to work together on educating future doctors, enabling them to achieve their maximum potential.

In addition to the Memorandum, the representatives of Schwester Euthymia Stiftung officially announced that they would support a number of German students every year with full (100%) financial scholarships to fund their studies of Medicine in English at our Faculty. Furthermore, after graduation, these students will have guaranteed jobs within the Schwester Euthymia Stiftung hospital network. This autumn, the faculty will welcome the first students supported by the Schwester Euthymia Stiftung scholarship.

Currently, the faculty is negotiating to expand this project throughout Germany to attract more students with similar funding opportunities and jobs upon graduation. The relationship has already proved fruitful with planned visits and compelling lectures from respected German professors organised for this autumn, in collaboration with our students (Deuthchsprachige Medizinstudierende Karls-Universitat). Germany is not the only country with whom we are developing relationships to improve the quality of our degree programmes in English. The Office of the Vice-Dean for International Studies is constantly working on creating more global partnerships and worldwide “brand awareness” of our faculty. Please contact us directly, or keep following our updates here to find out more about Germany and our other international partnerships.
